Today was such a fantastic day! Lots of sunshine, warmth, and a new Mini Countryman to get around in. Between the fantastic weather and being so excited about having a new/fun car, I decided to go out with my camera after work. I went to my favorite viewing spot for bald eagles and was happy with the choice I made.
Both eagles cooperated a bit for photo opportunities. The female eagle even brought a fish back. Sadly, we all walked away and missed the shot because none of us were expecting her to return so quickly and with a meal. Although we all missed that opportunity, it wasn't a complete wash because we got to photograph both eagles and also two osprey who decided to float through and circle around the area for a few minutes.
In addition to having raptors to photograph, I also played with the robins. I had one robin on the ground very close to me looking for a meal. I kept a close eye on him and lucked out capturing him catching and eating a worm. They usually slurp the worm down so fast, but this one took his time and gave me an awesome opportunity for photographs. In fact, he was so close that this shot is not at all cropped, which is rare for wildlife photography. I got lots of photo's today, but my shot of the robin with the worm was by far my favorite. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
