August 7, 2013 - Day 38

Wow, I can't believe I've been doing this blog for 38 days already. On the first night I started I felt like it was such an empty and pathetic blog.... but now.... now I feel like it is finally a blog! Full of pictures and blogging!

Finally, we caught something in the "have a heart" trap here at the Brookwood RV Resort. The trap was intended to capture and relocate the groundhog, but instead we got a skunk. Yep, you heard me correctly.... a smelly skunk! Josh came down and did a really awesome job getting the cage all wrapped up so he could relocate the lil guy without getting sprayed.

This evening I had plans to play cards with my neighbor, Michelle, so I did not get to spend the evening with Jim and the little guys. Luckily they did stop by to see me and wish me a good evening before they left Ti to go home. That made me really happy! Felix even gave me a lovely little bird house that he made at school this week.

On my way to Michelle's I was startled by the groundhog and couldn't help but laugh at how he is still running around the campsite while the skunk was relocated. My evening with Michelle was really fun. We played Canasta which is a card game in the rummy family. It was my first time playing this one and she was impressed with how quickly I was catching on. We had fun hanging out and getting to know a bit about each other. She's such a fun and nice person! I look forward to going over there again to play Canasta!

On my way back to my camp from Michelle's it was dark and a bit scary. I didn't think to bring a flashlight with me, so I used the pathetic little flashlight on my iPhone. As I got onto my lot, I heard rustling around in my hosta garden. I ran to the door and quickly turned on my outside light to see a darn skunk in there. I was so annoyed to think that there are more of them stinky lil guys running around here.

I know my blog is on the longer side today, but there was a lot of info to share of my evening. In addition to my pic of a skunk in a "have a heart" trap, I also have a short video of Josh trying to wrap up the cage. Enjoy and have a great night!

He was fine and he was released way outside of the campground into a big open field. We had another skunk spraying all over the place tonight. He will also soon be relocated!
