Today was the first day back to work after being off for 9 days. Wow, how tough that was! By the time lunchtime came around, I was ready for a nap. Sadly, that was not an option as I now have to buckle down and get a lot done to meet a customer deadline. Since I new I wouldn't get around to my project until this evening, I didn't put much thought into what I was doing until later in the day. Although, in the back of my mind I really wanted to see my chipmunk buddy. Sadly, I haven't seen him around my site since my young nieces were here and scared him away. With that in mind, I put some peanuts out during lunch time and kept an eye out for him all afternoon. Around 5:30 this evening, he finally came around and my excitement level nearly went through the roof. Over the course of the evening, I put several peanuts out for him and took a few pics. My other project this summer is to get him to warm up to me enough that he'll eat food out of my hands. I don't think it will take too much work, because he already comes pretty close to me. He even sat on my deck about a week ago and was watching the chihuahua's in the dog pen. I guess we'll see what happens over the course of the summer. In the meantime, here is a pic of my little friend, "Chippy" in front of his new house in the garden.
