July 22, 2013 - Day 22

Oh my, I don't even know where to begin today. The work part of the day was as usual. It was very busy and it went by fast. At the end of the work day I packed up the car to head home. Just before leaving camp to come home I got to see my friend James and his three boys. The boys were so cute! Very excited to see me and to invite me to join them on their boat when I get back. Felix hopped into my arms and was like a limp noodle hugging me, little James asked me to sign his cast and Aidan asked if he could come visit me at my real home sometime. It was cute! I'm becoming so fond of all three of the boys.

I got a on the road to head home a little later than I usually would have and during the drive I decided that it is not something I will ever do again. The first two hours of the ride weren't so bad, but the last hour (the part on the Taconic State Parkway) was a bit brutal. It had gotten dark, rain started falling, and I hit patches of fog. All of my least favorite driving conditions.

Then, I opened the door to find it really hot (94 degrees) in my home and my furnace running. I checked the thermostat and it was in the off position. I immediately turned off the main oil switch and that turned the furnace off. I wound up texting a friend to find out why something like that would happen and his thought was that the batteries had probably died in the thermostat. Who knew, there are batteries in there. His suggestion was for me to turn off the main breaker for the furnace until I get those batteries changed out. Thankfully I knew someone who could help me with my problem.

By the time I got things settled in the house and the car unpacked, I was completely whooped and knew I still had to take care of my project. So I got my camera out. And would you know, my camera is not working properly in manual mode. Very odd, I can't seem to change my f-stop in the manual setting. I'm not sure what the problem is, so for tonight I took a pic of little Bandit who is all snuggled up on the dirty linens I brought home from camp to wash before I go back up. Although it is still in the 80's in here, this little snuggle bug is snuggling into the blankets.
