I spent the past week up at camp, getting things opened up and set up. I worked with the chipmunks I feed and was lucky enough to have two of them let me pet them. One in particular is really sweet as he/she eats from my hands and enjoys a chippy massage. I tried to pick that cute lil guy up, but he wasn't having it and squirmed to get away. I tried several times and thought for sure I was gonna get bit, but thankfully that never happened. While at camp, I also went to see my favorite Osprey family. They are doing really well and appear to be sitting on eggs. Hopefully later in the month I'll have pics to post in my blog.
I returned home from camp on Tuesday and have since checked on my favorite pair of bald eagles and also searched for some barred owls in an area where I felt confident I would find some. I haven't gotten too many photo's since I've been home, but I did today get a shot of a barred owl that I absolutely love. This image may seem like I'm right next to the owl, but I wasn't. I took this shot with a 500mm lens and a 2x extender, plus my camera body has a crop factor of 1.6.... meaning, this shot was taken at roughly 1600mm. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
