This is the third year running where my nephew, Branden, has stayed with me for the Thanksgiving weekend. The big tradition that we have is that on Good Friday we sleep in (unlike the crazy shoppers out for the deals), then when we are ready we go out to find an awesome Christmas Tree to bring home and decorate. In addition to the tree hunting and decorating, we try to mix in some other fun. Although, every year we mix up what the other fun will be to keep it interesting. Today, after we enjoyed our annual tradition, we took my boyz (my chihuahua's) for a walk around the neighborhood and then we went out to the playground at Bowdoin Park.
The park was a lot of fun as Branden got to jump around and try out all the fun activities the park has to offer. He enjoyed the monkey bars, the various slides, and some other jungle gym fun that I have no clue what to call. Although the park was fun, it was a bit overcrowded for our liking. Between the fact that it was an unseasonable warm day in the upper 60's in November and a HUGE track meet, the place was beyond super crowded. We still had a great time.
By the time we got home, had dinner, and cleaned up for the night... we were completely exhausted and just chilled in the living room. When Branden is here, he gets to choose the tv programming while he is up and he watched a few episodes of a series he seemed to really like. Although, he enjoyed watching is show, he also enjoyed looking over my shoulder and watching what I was doing on the computer. He was really impressed with how fast I could type and he was enjoying the products he saw me creating for my zazzle store. I explained to him that I tend to work on my zazzle store several nights each week and he was pretty excited. He was even more excited to see that I was creating products with an image I had recently taken of my boyz. His response was, "they are so cute, they should be models". He really knows what to say to bring a big smile to my face. I surely do love hanging out with my Branden.
