I got up super early on a Sunday morning just to go see my favorite bald eagle's. Sadly, as soon as I got outside I realized it was a completely overcast day with horrible lighting. Briefly I thought I should just return home and go back to bed. However, I couldn't make that decision because in the back of my mind all I could think was that no matter what the lighting conditions were, I could still go and enjoy some time with the eagle's. I'm so glad I did. Yes, the lighting was bad and there was no blue sky, yet it was comical watching how these little birds would ruthlessly harass a big bald eagle (roughly 3 1/2 months old). Here is a neat pic I got of one of the babies hollering at this lil bird that was so ruthlessly mean to him. This particular guy somehow lost some tail feathers on his first day out of the nest and so we call him "Raggety Tail".

At this point, we are coming close to the end of seeing these guys. I've been watching their parents since February up until now (I even got to see them mate twice). I've logged many, many, many hours over the months watching and photographing this pair and their two babies. It's been an amazing experience watching the babies grow and I know I will be sad (yet happy) once the two babies fly off and out into the world. Therefore, in the meantime I will try to get there and see them as much as possible this week.

I hope you all have been enjoying my pics as much as I have enjoyed taking them. Some days I got lots of great photo's in a short period of time and other days I waited around for hours and got nothing. Either way, this has been an amazing experience and I feel extremely lucky to be part of it.
